Daily Fantasy Hockey Feed - 3/20/2011

by chewy 20. March 2011 06:42

Goalie Notes:

  • Pekka Rinne (NAS) stopped 39 of 40 for a big win over Detroit
  • Ray Emery (ANA) continues to roll, stopping 31 of 32 in the win over LA
  • Jaroslav Halak (STL) was pulled after allowing 3 goals on 10 shots to the Sharks
  • Tim Thomas (BOS) got the rare pull, after allowing 4 on 22 shots to the Leafs
  • Ondrej Pavelec (ATL) was also removed after allowing 3 goals on 11 shots.  Chris Mason fared no better, allowing 5 goals on 17 shots in relief.

Skater Notes:

  • Joe Pavelski (SJ) showed glimpses of last year's playoffs, scoring the hat trick and adding an assist
  • Rich Nash (COB) had 2 goals and 2 assists against the Wild
  • Joe Crabb (TOR) and Mark Mancari (BUF) each had a goal and 2 assists last night
  • Tyler Myers (D-BUF) and Sami Lepisto (D-COB) each had 3 assists
  • Two players came away with 2 goals on the night:
    • Rob Niedermeyer (BUF)
    • Evgeny Dadonov (FLA)

Injury Update:

  • Erik Johnson (D-COL) played yesterday for the Avs
  • Henrik Lundqvist (NYR) is questionable for today versus Pittsburgh
  • Sergei Gonchar (D-OTT) left the game yesterday with an upper body injury
  • Mark Letestu (PIT) is expected to miss today's game (upper body)
  • Logan Couture (SJ) left the game with a leg injury yesterday

Recommended Starting Goalies for Daily Fantasy Hockey Tonight:

6 games on the schedule, with an early start this afternoon.  Here are my picks:

1. MON vs MIN - The Canadiens have hit full stride down the stretch, winning 7 of 10.  The Wild have just 2 wins in their last 10 games.  Auld should get the start today, and he's a cheap option at just $5,700 on Fanduel.

2. NJ vs COL - The Devils have dropped a couple now, but face the Jackets who have won just 2 of 10.  Brodeur should get the start, as always.  (not confirmed)
