Hot Picks for Daily Fantasy Leagues - Week 8

by chewy 22. November 2010 21:13

Expanding this week to include Fantasy Sports Live in the hot picks for daily leagues.

Note:  "Value" picks are the best players on the very cheap end of the scale.  "Target" picks are higher end options that are still well below the upper price tags.  For comparison sake, the highest price tag by position is noted.

Fanduel

Starting in net, Bobrovsky is still by far the best value at 4900, though he's up considerably in price from last week.  You'll always do well early in the season going with a rookie, but it shouldn't be long before his salary comes in line with his point production.  Use him while you can.  Michal Neuvirth also continues to be a good deal at 6300.

Similar story on defense, as P.K. Subban's stock took a leap from last week, going from 4200 to 4600.  He's still worth taking at that price, but I rarely spend more than 4500 on a defenseman.  Babchuk continues to be a good deal, though he's creeping up in price slowly to 3700.

At center, Nazem Kadri has delivered considerable value in his first few games as a Leaf, averaging 3.1 FP/game for just 3400 in cap hit.  If he sticks with the Leafs, his price tag will climb quickly.

At Left Wing, Kostitsyn has priced himself out of my target picks at 6000 this week.  Continue to target Lucic and Neal, despite slight rises in their stock price.

At right wing, Claude Giroux is still my favorite pick, despite climbing to 6200 in cost.

If you're playing on FSL, it's critical to get a winning goaltender, so don't be afraid to spend some cap space on that position.  Even so, if you're looking for a bargain there, and can stomach the bad goals, Fleury is lowballed at 50 right now.

On defense, you can't go wrong with guys like Weber, Gonchar and Keith, all at wholesale pricing.  Not sure why they're so low, but they're fixtures on my rosters.

Up front, I'm splurging on Stamkos despite his hefty price.  I also like Kane, Datsyuk, and Hossa for the money.  Kovalchuk is bound to score sooner or later, and at just 28, he comes cheap.

Fantazzle

There seems to have been little to no updates on salaries at Fantazzle in the past couple weeks, so most of the players to target are the same.  In net, despite his struggles, Halak is a steal at 70k, and Neuvirth is a no-brainer at 80k.  Price is also certainly worth a look at 75k.  On defense, Letang and Byfuglien are a given.  I'm still going with Stamkos at center for 140k.  At wing, Eriksson (75k), Horton (65k) and Neal (45k) are steals.
