Daily Fantasy Hockey Feed - 1/25/2011

by chewy 25. January 2011 07:59

I'm changing up the format a bit on our daily fantasy post.  We're cooking up a new homepage to go with it, that should be ready to go soon.

If you have feedback or other things you'd like to see added, please email me at chewy@landsharkhockey.com.

Goalie Notes:

  • Jonathan Quick (LA) posted a shutout against Boston, stopping 34 shots
  • Braden Holtby (WAS) stopped 28 of 29 shots, but lost in the shootout to the Rangers.  He has allowed just 3 goals in his last 3 starts.
  • Martin Biron (NYR) was in the cage on the other side for the win, stopping 22 of 23
  • Kari Lehtonen (DAL) allowed 7 goals on 33 shots before being replaced by Raycroft
  • J.S. Giguere (TOR) was taken for 5 goals on 27 shots

Skater Notes:

  • Tim Brent (TOR) scored twice and added an assist
  • Henrik Sedin (VAN) had a goal and 2 assists
  • Brad Boyes (STL) contributed 3 assists for the Blues
  • Brandon Sutter (CAR) - 2 goals
  • Brandon Yip (COL) - 2 goals

Injury Update:

  • Tobias Enstrom, Andrew Ladd, and Evander Kane (ATL) are all questionable for Wed
  • Thomas Vanek (BUF) is questionable for tonight
  • Loui Eriksson (DAL) returned from the flu for Dallas last night
  • Tomas Vokoun (FLA) is doubtful for tonight
  • Kris Letang and Chris Kunitz (PIT) are both ill, but will likely play tonight
  • Kevin Bieksa (VAN) played last night, despite the eye injury

Recommended Starting Goalies for Daily Fantasy Hockey Tonight:

With just 2 days of games before the All-Star break, there's plenty of action and choices to be made.  Here are some of the more lopsided games to target with your goalie selections tonight:

  • PIT vs NYI - Fleury will probably get the go at home against the Isles.
  • BUF vs OTT - The Senators have won just 1 of their last 10 and are -51 on goal differential this season.  The Sabres are playing well.  Expect Miller in net.
  • PHO vs EDM - Anyone versus Edmonton is tempting.  The Coyotes have 21 points over the Oilers in the standings.  Pencil in Bryzgalov.
  • PHI vs MON - The Flyers are tops in the league and site 10 points ahead of Montreal.  They've won 8 of their past 10 and seem unstoppable.  Expect Bobrovsky in net.

Note: none of these starters confirmed yet.
