Daily Fantasy Hockey Feed - 1/6/11

by chewy 6. January 2011 09:08

More technical issues yesterday with our host… we'll get that taken care of so you don't miss another minute of fine fantasy hockey coverage going forward.

4 Stars

#1 - Chris Kunitz (F-PIT) - Kunitz led the charge in the Pens route of Tampa Bay, recording his 2nd career hat trick.

#2 - Alex Goligoski (F-PIT) - Goligoski had a 4-point night with a goal and 3 assists

#3 - Roberto Luongo (G-VAN) - Luongo helped the Canucks to their 7th straight win, stopping 43 of 44 shots

#4 - Pekka Rinne (G-NAS) - Rinne was spectacular, stopping 40 of 41 shots to beat Anaheim

Injury Update:

  • Ryan Getzlaf will be out another month
  • The Islanders have an astounding 10 players on the inactive list right now, including: Streit, Okposo, Weight, DiPietro, Eaton, Comeau, Nielsen… it's a wonder they're winning games.
  • Evgeny Dadonov missed last night with an ankle injury
  • Michal Roszival hurt his ribs last night

Player Notes:

  • Henrik Lundqvist and Marc-Andre Fleury both stopped 31 of 32 shots in their respective wins
  • Dwayne Roloson was pulled and returned, allowing 5 goals total on 23 shots.  Dan Ellis allowed 3 on 18 shots in between.
  • Tomas Vokoun was pulled after allowing 3 goals on 15 shots.  Scott Clemmensen stopped all 16 shots he faced in relief.
  • Kris Letang had 3 assists the Lightning
  • Rich Peverley and Mike Ribeiro had two goals a piece
  • Brenden Morrow is back to his old self, scoring his 17th goal of the season
  • Sidney Crosby had just 1 assist on the 8 Penguin goals.
  • Steven Stamkos was held without a point for the 3rd straight game

Recommended Starters for Daily Fantasy Hockey Tonight:

Plenty of interesting options to consider tonight.

  • First off, you have to consider Philly against the Devils.  No starter named yet, but Boucher is a fair bet.
  • Next, look to St. Louis against Toronto.  Halak is likely to start, and win.
  • Try and pick a winner in the Islanders / Oilers matchup.  The Islanders are injury-ridden, but have won 7 of their past 10.  The Oilers have just 1 win in their last 10.
  • Anderson (COL) is a cheap option against Phoenix
  • Finally, consider starting Fleury against Montreal, though it's unclear if the Pens will go back to Fleury on back-to-back nights.

Here's my initial starters for tonight:
