The Canadiens have been written off many times this postseason, but this time, it looks like its for good. There isn't much cause for hope in Montreal after the Flyers completed their 3rd shutout of the series.
4 Stars
#1 - Michael Leighton (G - PHI) - For the third time in four games, Leighton was perfect in net for Philadelphia. He only saw 17 shots on the night, but stopped every one of them. Leighton's numbers since taking over for the injured Boucher have been unspeakable.
#2 - Claude Giroux (F - PHI) - Giroux scored the opening goal in the second and added an empty netter to seal the victory for the Flyers.
#3 - Ville Leino (F - PHI) - Leino also stepped up for Philly, scoring a beauty on a breakaway.
#4 - Chris Pronger (D - PHI) - Pronger was dominant on the night, shutting down the Montreal offense, as he logged over 31 minutes and contributed with a great setup on Leino's goal.
Injury Update:
- Jeff Carter returned for the Flyers and played about 14 minutes, getting 4 shots on goal
- Ian Laperriere also returned for Philadelphia after missing 10 games due to concussion
Player Notes:
- Tomas Plekanec hasn't scored a goal in 12 games.
- Jaroslav Halak played well in the loss, stopping 22 of 24 shots he faced.
