Daily Fantasy Hockey Feed - 2/25/2011

by chewy 25. February 2011 09:14

Goalie Notes:

  • Corey Crawford (CHI) earned a 31 save shutout versus the Preds
  • Kari Lehtonen (DAL) stopped 38 of 39 to earn the win for Dallas
  • James Reimer (TOR) allowed 4 goals on 35 shots, but still got the win over Montreal
  • Al Montoya (NYI) fell in OT after allowing 4 goals on 43 shots
  • Alex Auld (MON) allowed 3 goals on just 9 shots before getting the yank

Skater Notes:

  • Phil Kessel (TOR) scored twice and had 2 more assists versus Montreal
  • Tyler Bozak (TOR) also had 2 goals for Toronto and added 1 assist
  • Matt Martin (NYI) had a 2-goal night for the Isles
  • Wayne Simmonds (LA) scored twice for LA
  • Ilya Kovalchuk (NJ) takes an 11 game point streak into action tonight, yet remains undervalued on most daily sites.  Take advantage.

Injury Update:

  • Ryan Getzlaf (ANA) is questionable for tonight
  • Chris Pronger (PHI) left the game last night with a wrist injury
  • Ray Whitney (PHO) is questionable for tonight
  • Brooks Orpik (PIT) broke his finger and is out 4-6 weeks
  • Mike Green (D-WAS) and Nicklas Backstrom are both listed as probable for tonight

Recommended Starting Goalies for Daily Fantasy Hockey Tonight:

9 games to pick from.  So far, teams are holding their tongues on who to expect in net.  Here's the best guess at goalies to target for a win tonight:

1. NJ vs TB - Hedberg has been named to start, comes at a fair price on most sites, and has won 8 straight games.  Tampa is playing .500 hockey.

2. BUF vs OTT - Despite the fact that Ottawa has won 2 straight, I definitely like Miller's odds in the cage tonight.  The firesale continues in Ottawa and they have little to play for at this point.

3. SJ vs CGY - San Jose has found their groove and are looking tough to beat these days, while the Flames have cooled off a bit.  Expect Niemi, as he's been in net since about Christmas.
