Daily Fantasy Hockey Feed - 4/8/2011

by chewy 8. April 2011 08:11

Goalie Notes:

  • Roberto Luongo (VAN) stopped all 29 shots for his fourth shutout of the season
  • Ondrej Pavelec (ATL) did my Canes a favor by shutting out the Rangers.  He stopped 29 in the game.
  • Niklas Backstrom (MIN) was removed after allowing 5 goals on 23 shots.  Theodore mopped up the final 5 shots in the loss to Vancouver.
  • Brian Elliott (COL) and the Avs lost again.  Elliott gave up 4 goals on 37 shots to the Stars.

Skater Notes:

  • Ryan Kesler (VAN) reach 40 goals with the hat trick last night
  • Bobby Butler (OTT) had a 3-point night, with a beautiful goal and 2 assists
  • Mason Raymond (VAN) scored twice for the Canucks
  • Four players finished last night with a  goal and 1 assist:
    • Rob Schremp (ATL)
    • Brad Richards (DAL)
    • Jason Spezza (OTT)
    • Loui Eriksson (DAL)

Injury Update:

  • Ray Emery (ANA) is questionable for tonight (lower body)
  • Ryan Miller (BUF) is expected to be available for tonight.  No word on who's starting.
  • Henrik Zetterberg (DET) will sit out the last couple games of the season with a lower body injury
  • Tomas Vokoun (FLA) is expected to be available for tonight.  May be his last chance to impress before he hits the free agent market this summer.
  • Danny Briere (PHI) is probably for tonight (groin)
  • Ryan Clowe (SJ) is questionable for tonight
  • Alex Edler (VAN) returned to action for Vancouver last night

Recommended Starting Goalies for Daily Fantasy Hockey Tonight:

Plenty of action to choose from tonight as you prepare for the final $300 game of the regular season on Draftstreet tonight.  Here are some good options in net:

1. NAS vs COB - The Preds are rising fast in the West, with 8 wins in their last 10 games.  They face a depleted Columbus roster with nothing to play for.  Expect Rinne in net (not confirmed)

2. CAR vs ATL - The Thrashers did Carolina a favor last night, but don't expect The Canes to be kind in return tonight.  Carolina has won 7 of 10 and can close in on a playoff spot with a win tonight.  Expect Ward in net.

3. DAL vs COL - The Stars must win to stay alive.  They couldn't ask for a better opponent, as the Avs have shown no signs of life for months now.  Look for Lehtonen in the cage.
